Kirsten Borton is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) who specializes in working with adolescent girls - bringing with her a deep empathy, insight, and over a decade of experience. With a specialized focus on teen mental and behavioral health, she supports young women navigating the complex challenges of today’s world—from anxiety and mood disorders to perfectionism, relationship struggles, self-esteem issues, and school-based stressors.
Her clinical expertise extends to working with teens facing learning differences, life transitions, and the unique mental health impacts of gifted identification. Having worked extensively within the school system, she holds a nuanced understanding of how academic environments influence students’ emotional wellbeing.
Kirsten's therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her compassionate and strengths-based style empowers teens to better understand themselves, build healthy coping strategies, and thrive socially and emotionally.
She earned both her Bachelor’s (BA)and Master’s degrees in Social Work (MSW) from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining CWW, Kirsten served as a clinician for partial-hospitalization program where she provided direct therapeutic services to patients and led group programs. Her work with teens in school environments extends a range of services including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, leading workshops in socio-emotional development, conflict resolution, and positive relationship functioning. She currently serves as a Mental Health Specialist for Dublin City Schools and is the Lead Clinician for all three (Jerome, Coffman & Scioto) district high schools. Additionally, in her role she the Hope Squad Support Program which is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention and awareness program.
Whether she’s working one-on-one with clients, leading a school-based mental health initiative, or guiding teens through times of transition, Kirsten is committed to fostering resilience, connection, and hope in the lives of the young people she serves.
