she/her
Jennifer Armbrecht is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (LISW-S) who brings over a decade of experience working with diverse populations, helping both adults and youth of all ages navigate a wide range of interpersonal challenges, crises, and major life transitions. This meaningful work in addition to her own lived experience has helped to inform her culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental care approach.
Jennifer values authentic, human-centered connections and welcomes clients to come as they are, meeting them where they’re at with compassion, support, and therapeutic humor. She finds deep meaning in walking alongside clients during times of difficulty, providing a source of hope and helping them find resiliency within themselves. She works to individualize services by focusing on each client’s unique strengths and pulling from various evidence-based clinical interventions including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology at Bowling Green State University where she held various university-wide leadership roles, and later earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a focus in Children and Families from The Ohio State University. She has worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for 10 years in a variety of clinical roles across behavioral health, trauma treatment, and critical care inpatient settings.
Jennifer has both participated in and facilitated various specialized educational sessions (including child maltreatment, interpersonal violence, and child loss/grief), has engaged in various advocacy and inclusion groups supporting under-represented populations throughout the years, and has had her work highlighted in a peer-reviewed journal. Today, she continues supporting children and families in the PICU, NICU, and various other inpatient areas at Nationwide Children’s in addition to supporting clients at CWW.
Jennifer’s work with caregivers and her own motherhood journey has cultivated her passion for supporting women through infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting challenges, and she is currently pursuing her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). She is an active member of various professional organizations including the Ohio Collaborative for Perinatal Mental Health, Postpartum Support International, and Ohio Perinatal Behavioral Health Taskforce. She is also preparing to be a presenter/panelist for the inaugural National Working Motherhood Week this fall. Both personally and professionally, she recognizes the lack of support in this area and enjoys finding ways to help women understand what is going on inside their minds and bodies, and that they are not alone.
