she/her

Emily Prusak, MSW, LSW is a Licensed Social Worker with experience treating eating disorders, body image distress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and an interest in supporting LGBTQ+ clients. She supports her clients in clarifying and making progress on their goals, providing a non-judgmental space for identifying and exploring their values, and helping clients to see their strengths.

Emily’s approach to therapy is collaborative and creative; helping clients imagine unique and solution-focused strategies for their challenges. It is important to Emily that her clients feel safe being their true selves, and she strives to create a comfortable and accepting space for all her clients. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT). With experience leading groups, Emily is well-versed in sharing emotion regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and other useful skills for coping with life’s challenges. When appropriate, she also weaves in moments of connection through humor.

Before pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) from The Ohio State University (OSU), Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Visual Communication Design from Kent State University, and her background in design informs her creative approach to therapy. From her time as a graphic designer in New York City, she also understands the stressors associated with being a woman in a fast-paced corporate setting. Prior to joining CWW, she worked at The Emily Program, where she honed her expertise in treating eating disorders and working with clients with body image distress. She also has experience working with LGBTQ+ and HIV+ clients while completing her internship at Equitas Health’s Mental Health and Recovery Services department. Her work includes both individual and group therapy, with a curious and humble approach to engaging clients.

Emily provides services under the clinical supervision of Monica G. Williams, MSW, LISW-S.
